How to activate hidden tracklog feature on Nuvi 2x5/7x5

I used the 1 second logging feature for the first time in my nuvi 765 Sg / Mal just now. Will download it to mapsource once I am in the office next week. Anyway, I noticed two things.
1.) Once recording is activated, a camera icon appears on the top right hand side of the screen. Pressing it produces a camera clicking sound. Even when recording is stopped, the icon still appears. The only way to make it disappear is to switch off the nuvi. What is the function of this camera icon?
On my 205W, pressing Tools >> Settings >> Display >> Screen Shot > Disable, will disable the camera. The camera is for taking screen shots of your PND, it is particularly useful for map and routing feedbacks.

2.) Under the play log, the log name appears as date_ some numbers. In my case 20090822_041051. Under this, start date is shown as JAN-06-90. The start time looks right, at 12:11:06. how come my start date shows as 06 Jan 1990? Did I do something wrong or is it a bug?

Bro, Thanks for the tip on turning off the camera icon. As for the file naming of the log, I understand it, and in my case it does seem to be correct. The only curiosity is why the start date shows as 06 Jan 1990 instead of 22 Aug 2009. Anyway, I'm looking at the data directly for my nuvi unit in this case, cause haven't tried transferring it to mapsource yet.

scenario...
1. activated 1 sec tracking on 1st road... at the end of the road, i stop the tracking...
2. reaching another road, i made a tracking again...
3. when i convert the log file to gdx, it made 2 gdx file...

my question is, how to make both new tracks in 1 gdx file??

Hi 9w2yon, just open both GPX files with Mapsource (there will be 2 Mapsource files opened). And copy the track from 1 GPX and paste to the other GPX, and save. You can add as many tracks as you wish, but each must have different name, so if the tracks' names are similar, you need to rename before copy & pasting.

No patching is required if you don't mind the tracklog being saved in the main memory.

Yes, it's still 1 sec interval tracking.

Thanks for the above. Recently patched my 205W and then read about this post....

But at least the SD card gets the "beating" cos a lot 1 sec tracking may corrupt the memory in the long run.

Nuvi 205W (coverted to 2W) with MY/SG v2.70 firmware.

The track logs captured in the \Garmin\Logs\xxxxx folders seem to contain only 2 files, nav.bin and traffic.bin without gps.bin. Thus, wNutrak unable to convert to .gpx right?

Any idea why there is missing gps.bin?
