"Assert failed at Uni_CNVT.c: 326 in PocketNav with error 0"

What happened was I had Garmin Mobile PC installed into my HP Mini netbook. I had not been using the netbook for some time and decided to update with the latest MFM maps. When I switch on the program, I get the error message.

I then un-install the software with an un-installer program, also un-installing mapsource and all other installers such as the maps installer. I then downloaded the latest version from Garmin and re-install everything again. The 1st time it was OK where I had to enter the necessary codes but after re-starting again, I get the error message again.

I have checked other forums (in here and other forums on the internet) and apparently the error is something to do with the language settings. But it does not say how to correct the error.

Appreciate any help on this.

facing same problem with me........ but now is ok oredi. i just install by using mapsource. try n see

Hi thanks for the reply. Have already done all that including going into the registry and finding and deleting all entries with Garmin/gps/mapsource/mfm/gbx/gdx. Used ccleaner, regseeker, revo uninstaller, auslogic disk & track cleaner for everything but still no luck. Tried a few clean install and un-install, also install on top of existing program.

Not sure what you mean by install using mapsource. How do you go about doing it? I am new to this and am still learning how to find my way around. I apologise if the topic had already been covered somewhere else in the forum. If it is, appreciate if you could point me in the right direction.

I think I will try to follow the guide given on the Community forum to use mapsource. It should be the best place to go.

Problem solved!!!!!

To brothers tlchuan and k5011, thanks very much.....

I did as brother k5011 mentioned installed the map using mapsource. Had some problem at 1st with mapsource but finally managed to overcome. But I am not using GMPC ver .60g, decided to ditch that and go back to ver .50g.

Don't know where the problem lies but based on trial and error, it was the complied map installed to GarminMobile folder that caused it. Not sure why this happen now and not with previous maps. After re-installing the GPMC was ok but after installing the map, problem happen. deleted the gmapsupp.img, together with error.dmp, problem went away. Install the POI, no problem, install gmapsupp.img, problem happen again. un-install gmapsupp and then install the lite version 1.74 compling under Garmin Que, no problem. Now running on map installed via mapsource.

Once again thanks to bro tlchuan and k5011 for your help.

Sorry to hijack this thread but just want to share some thing I learned on this Error Message:

ERROR: Assert Failed at gfx_bitblt_prj.c : 215 in MPM main with error 6

Usually happens when you are in Navigation mode and switch to Browse Mode, and while browsing the map, Garmin MXT suddenly quits and leave the error message.

Solution: Delete GARMIN.NVM under your main memory /Garmin/

When u restart GMXT, you will be at the default location (for me it was in Australia). This is not an issue as once u get a Sat fix, the GMXT will use the last known position.

I still haven't figured out this error: "Read Access violation at data address 0xF5C239F0. Program address 0x001714B4 in background thread NULL (GfxFieldWindowProc)" which occurs at a particular location on the map only.
Current Device: LG G2 Android 4.4.2
Previous Devices: HTC HD2 with WM6.5 and Android 2.3.5
Previous Devices: HTC Touch Diamond 2 PDA Phone (288MB RAM) with WM6.5
