Re: 4gb Sd Card..Is it compatible with Nuvi 205W?

Postby faizdude » Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:00 pm

This is from the US Garmin Site's FAQ's:

Question: What's the Secure Digital (SD) card recommended for my Nüvi?
Answer:

As long as your nuvi has the latest version of software, it will be compatible with all SD and SDHC datacards. While SDHC datacards are available in a variety of storage sizes and speeds, we only recommend using a maximum of 4GB SDHC cards.

To download the latest unit software visit our website: www.garmin.com/webupdater

Note: Depending on the model of your nuvi it may use either a full size SD card or a microSD card. If you are not sure which your nuvi requires, please refer to its documentation.

How new is your unit. I doubt if a hard reset will void warranty. But make sure you backup the contents.

The button is for a "soft" reset. You do not need to use it to do a "hard" reset.

Please read your manual page 13 on how to do a hard reset. Involves button and pressing at a corner of screen.
