I need your input on my nuvi 255w. i just got it last friday. still learning about my nuvi. when i checked the unit, it is a malaysia/singapore unit but when i check in garmin singapore website, it stated that my gps is not localised.

may i know why it is like this??? appreciate your feedback.

my guess that your unit is an overseas unit but the seller flash it to my/sg firmware and sell it to you

btw, i've been wondering, does 255w supports 3d navigation map?

thanks.

All GPS that I have ever used does have a 3D view for navigation including the 255.

But what you are probably asking is whether 255 supports 3D Buildings. In this case it does not only the 7XX series upwards has the 3D building feature.

Thanks bro.

Eastgear sells at S$329 at their website

I was quick amazed at the margins for the GPS sold in SG. In Amazon, the 255W (new) is abt US$150 and factory refurbished abt US$130. Seems much cheaper in the USA. Based on recommendation from another forum, I bought the factory refurbished set.
It is a risk but I thought worth a gamble. So far OK...but keeping fingers crossed.

Hi bros..got some questions to ask regarding 225W..just bought recently..

does 225W still speak street name if i change over to 091019 map..and or does it still show the Exit name?

i understand MFM does't support junction view..so basically i'm losing out to JV if i use 091019 map?

Doesn't matter what maps you used, 255W still can speak street names when you using TTS voice.
If not, you cant hear it speak street names.
