Well, it could possibly be the virus.... but on Linux?

If you go to the Garmin-Asus Website (http://www.garminasus.com/garmin/cms/si ... en/welcome), and you click 'Support', then 'nuvifone G60 firmware and modem update', you will NOT be able to download the said update. What you'll get is the 'nuvifone Sync Agent - Atlantic: Version 3.00' application instead. They are really a messed up lot!

What baffles me is that there are now three, yes three, (no, 4 actually) versions of the Sync Agent:

    1. nuvifonesyncagent-2.0.0.exe [48,306 KB]
    2. nuvifoneSyncAgent-Singapore_200.exe [48,306 KB]
    3. nuvifoneSyncAgent-NorthAmerica_300.exe [13,710 KB]
    4. nuvifoneSyncAgent-Atlantic_300.exe [13,710 KB]

Garmin-Asus didn't bother to say what the differences are, but the 3.0.0. North America and Atlantic versions are identical in size, but are much smaller than the 2.0.0. version. From what I experienced, these updates are 'available' depending on what time of day you go to their website. I'll go visit them again later tonite to see what's on offer this time. :ko: BTW, has anyone tried the 3.0.0. version?

Hi Zamad,
I just got my G60 today, went to Garmin-Asus website try to download the latest firmware as per what you mentioned early, but can't locate the firmware... So mine is still remain at 2.26.
what I can see is only this "nuvifoneSyncAgent-Atlantic_300" listed..... downloaded and did the installation, so the SyncAgent is installed but till now the G60 still unable to connect to the pc by using the "Sync Service", I don't know why...
If connect by using "Mass Storage" is ok, I did transfer the MFM 091019 map to the device, so far it works fine, never shut down by itself, phone call is ok... everything works just fine at this moment.
My problem is the device can not connect to "SyncAgent" to transfer all my contacts. Any idea what's goes wrong during the progress of installation for the software?
Regards,

On the G60, under 'Tools', run 'Synchronize'. It won't work if you run SyncAgent from the PC. ScreenCap (below) shows a 'new' pop-up once you plug in the mini USB.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I select "Sync Service" from the pop-up, and error message is fail to connect.... trying and trying take very long time.
Under 'Tools', run 'Synchronize', asking for IP address????
Any further step..?

The IP Address on the SyncAgent and the G60 must be the same. Mine is 169.254.30.***
You can access the IP Address on the G60 by: Settings >> Applications >> Synchronize : IP Address

The problem raise with the nuvifoneSyncAgent-Atlantic_300, there is no comm setting, only have PIM setting. That really make me like a fool, looking around high and low for that IP address setting. ](*,) ](*,)
After downgrade to nuvifonesyncagent-2.0.0, I manage to set the IP address in the comm setting, now every contacts are in G60.... :peace:  \:D/
Anyhow Thank You Bro Zamad for the guide... :tq: =D>

Perhaps it was deliberately set to misguide while at the same time, trigger off what was not immediately noticeable, coz most were expected to take the routine path at the settings... with this carrousel tour that you ended with... did you manage to define the coordinates simultaneously while being at every new location as you move on to the next?
Could just be and to test your findings.... which was intended to see if you covered that expectation too.... well, if you didn't, perhaps they might have anticipated on that too... but only you will have to feel how it went at the end of feeling flabbergested by it all...

Good to have Zamad around after all....sigh.... at

3. Save more information, including address and phone number, from Rich POI to "My Favorite"
I still can't figure out what this does...
Reply from Garmin-Asus Taiwan:

For your problem, the third improvement of G60 new upgrade means, when you add new POI(point of interest) in the map, more information will be included, like address and phone number.

This hardly explains what Rich POI means... and the reply was exactly the same as the statement they put in their website. :nutz:
