0851 - US nuvi 205 updates via webupdater. current software version 5.70 as of 24th September 2009.

Installed few days ago into my Nuvi 260w & none bugs found & really fast sattelites locked! =D> & accuracy down to 4m some of times..

garmin have update the firmware for 255w here i post the file for updated

0737 - US nuvi 2xxW Last update software version 4.00 released on September 16, 2008
0754 - US
0760 - Indonesian Nuvi 200
0780 - Taiwan
0827 - US
0834 - US nuvi 2xx Last update software version 5.00 released on September 12, 2008
0835 - US nuvi 2xxW Last update software version 4.00 released on September 16, 2008
0836 - Taiwan
0851 - US nuvi 205 Last update software version 5.70 released September 2009
0870 - US nuvi 7x5 Last update software version 3.60 released on June 24, 2009
0905 - ???
0930 - Singapore/Malaysia
0932 - Taiwan
0933 - Japan
0939 - Thailand

Thanks to Bro Moeyhc, following is how to obtain your HWID:

Open the GarminDevice.xml file in your Nuvi Garmin folder using any Internet browser.
Find these text - usually at the start of the listing.

<Model>
<PartNumber>006-B0932-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>260</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 205W</Description>
</Model>

The B0932 number listed at the PartNumber is the HWID, in this case it is 0932 for the Taiwan Nuvi 205W.[/quote]

1. Synchronize to English v5.30.
2. Update GPS firmware to v3.90.

Note: Please first remove the following files from Garmin\Voice folder: (1) English_American_Jack.vpm; (2) English_Australian_Karen.vpm; (3) English_British_Daniel.vpm. Click here to see how to remove the voice files.

You may check it at here or use Garmin webupdater

Using WebUpdater is better way to check the latest firmware, voice & others.
If you using a non-international unit Please read this post

Not need update so frequently, if your device not facing a problem, don't updated firmware still the best.

Never read the instructions? It did mention backup GPX folder.
