Hello,

I'm using Papago R5800 X5.2, but after updating to the latest map 091118, the device froze and hung on the welcome screen. And I can't connect the device in USB mode anymore.

How to rectify this problem?

Help me please.

use a SD card and instructions as follows

Software Restore via SD Card

1. Prepare a NEW Formated SD Card (Atleast 2GB).
2. Copy everything in the SD folder from the Papago CD into the New Formated SD Card. Delete the Navi folder and not the X5_factory in the SD card.
3. Down load the software X5_5.2 from M3GPS site and install the software in your SD card.
4. You can also download the latest map and install it in \Navi\Maps folder.
5. Ensure your unit is in Off mode by holding the Off button for 5 seconds.
6. Insert the SD Card in to the Unit.
7. Reset the unit or you may have to power back your unit.
8. The Unit will automatically ON, and the Update program will start running. Wait until the program finish updating. Ensure you have sufficient battery life.
9. Remove the SD card once the Update has completed. Then Reset the unit again. Your restoration as well as software update is complete.
10. Future software update can be done this way, cause at times, the usb connections goes wacko.

Not many people using WayWay; bro bensonyeo is one. If you plug your PND to the PC via USB, and go into 'Mass Storage' mode, you should be able to see the directory structure. The mfm Papago maps consist of 27 unique files, and in the R5800, it is under the Maps/MFM folder. I guess it should be similar to your WayWay.

If you plan to overwrite the existing map, then remember to make a backup. The map installer extracts 27 files into your PC. Copy/Move these files into the appropriate folder in your PND.

I tried, but I can't see the latest map in Map Switch. My GPS still show the old map only Malfreemaps.com MY/SG/BN 091014. Device can't find the map 091209.

You can install more than 1 version of MFM map into your Papago device by selection different folder name for the Map. E.g: K:\Navi\Maps\MFM1 and K:\Navi\Maps\MFM2 Remark: MFM1 folder contain Old version of map, MFM2 folder contain latest map. .

After install latest MFM papago map, How do check whether you have succeed install the latest map,
Please follow the Step below:

I also tried delete the old version, but can't start Papago.
I also tried copy the new one to MFM folder, but can't find it in Map Switch.

I have an HTC magic and have already install PAPAGO X5 for android, downloaded the latest map and replace all the files in the maps folder but when i checked back at my device , it is still showing map version malfreemaps.com MY/SG 090626. Is this normal, or it should should show the latest updates.

Please read properly the title of this topic, "How to update the latest MFM-Papago map into Papago R5800?"

This topic has nothing to do with PAPAGO X5 for android or HTC Magic! Please ask questions at the appropriate topic or forum. TQ
