bought one at lowyat, RM480.00. Abit expensive for 4.3".
Comes with GMXT 5 & Papago x3

Both maps programs are working good, so far no problem.
Startup abit slow, need 1-2 minutes. Routing is slightly lag, but still okay
for first time user.

Comes with 2gb/home/car/usb and mouting.
1 year warranty 1-1 exchange.

No regret at the moment. :finga:
But battery only can last 1 hour++ at maximum brightness.

Any navigation or up date map problem??

Navigation so far 100% accurate, tested 5 locations only.
Just download the map here and replace the current one. Updated once, no problem.

Also comes with PDA functions such as games, mp3, flash, calendar, notes and so on. Totally worth the price.

Garmin/Papago got pda functions or not? Or just GPS only?

I also have a Chinese GPS bought off ebay last year.....AUD55= RM165...Its really cheap.....there i so many features like FM transmitter( hear songs and navigation thru car speaker), MP3 player, Movie player, Games and Photo viewer.....It comes with IGO8 software and 2GB SD card- It comes with Australia, some US, Singapore and Malaysia maps..... Malaysia map is not that accurate(but its version 2009_03 Tele Atlas) some of the streets stated 'Unnamed Road'.....but it works great in KL and JB...........Load with lots of POIs.....but not as much as MFM POIs..... :)

:rox: :champ: :peace:
Garmin nuvi 255w + MFM110117 = THE BEST GPS EVER!!! = YOU WILL NEVER EVER GET LOST (I hope so) :P

Hi All,,

The only problem with these China made PND are the illegit software,, other than that they rock.. put that aside just look at it as a device. I am ordering 4 more units, for my friends.

I've made comparison on Garmin vs Papago thread.. I must say so far this units rock.. it comes with 2 GB SD card loaded with all Nav software, can be easily copied and put to bigger SD card. Some accessories shop also sell these GPS build in into dash board, its too expensive, to compensate for it they bundle it with fwd and reverse camera, DVD payer and radio.

China produce a lot of electronics stuff, from Toaster to Computers,, GPS is just one of their product. I must say I like the Nav software installed, the hardware is just a transport for those software.

If these PND will promote usage of GPS and promote contribution from new members that previously unable to do then its good. By profession I am an Electronic Engineer..., Chinese Electronics is just a matter of what quality you get,, since they can produce from the very top to the very bottom.

Compare to dedicated PND (those branded stuff) these will be marginally lagging, its usable unless you drive at 120km/hr in middle of KL. To make it fast you must tweak wince, this is difficult because some of these unit locked the CE interface.

Just a question to set the mind thinking over this festive season's.

Is it right for us at MfM to Decide if the GPS from China a clone or 'illegal'? Isn't this prejudice? Are GPS OEM making it known that these devices are clone? .... .... Cheers!

To me it not my right to judge that, as long as its a GPS and can contribute and Navigate... its

Allow me to chip in here

Beside those devices that are NOT state here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5367
all devices that "comes" install with Papago X2 or M3GPS X3/X5 are illegal crack version.

And seller must also be aware that copyright infringement is a criminal offense here in Malaysia.
Offender can be fine and jailed. Domestic Trade Ministry can conduct raid at any time.

Experimenting, playing and buying these China GPS is like buying pirated DVD in pasar malam.
The DVD buyers are all aware that these DVD are pirated copies.

For GPS devices, the difference is that, buyer must be aware that

1. That Garmin XT installed in WinCE are crack version of Garmin Window Mobile vversion.
And Garmin has decided to stop developing WM version, as such, the version is the LAST.

2. Maction customized each X2, X3 and X5 based on distributor's requirement. Take for example
X2 is already obsoleted and registered user will be able to upgrade their X2 to X3
Latest Jan 2010 version
. In the last 6-12 month, M3GPS has release not less than 4-5
version of X3. Each update not only fix bugs, also add features and functionalities.

One thing for sure is that, those crack version of M3GPS X3 are old version with bugs..

As such, there is no standard version for Papago X3 , X5... Caveat Emptor
