The release dates for mfm garmin maps are in the format 'yymmdd'. Hence, v100104 is 4th Jan 2010 release and is the latest map. Chinese POI are POIs written in Chinese characters because translations to English might not be accurate.

I wondering why i can't search for those 'Jalan...' using the 'Points of Interest > Spell Name' using the latest map dated 100104? But when i replace the map file with old map dated 091214, I can find all the 'Jalan...' name. Any idea out there?

You probably did not opt for Road POI inclusion (at 2nd line, see pic below) when generating GMAPSUPP.IMG using MFM installer/map generator.

ok. thanks for the fast respond. i will try it again. so unfortunely i deleted the installer. need to download it again.

it's working now... regenerate the gmapsupp.img by checked the 2nd box 'Include Road POI'. thanks for that info. :thumbsup:

When I load the MFM maps in my garmin, I see the small arrow which shows upcoming turns but it doesn't show the distance to that turn. Did i made a miss something when i convert it on mapsource?

Any help, appreciated.

It would help much if you indicate which model GPS you have :-?

On Nuvi, the distance is indicated above the turn arrow. Touching on that arrow brings another screen that shows a zoom of turn location, text instructions, turn distance and time

Please provide further info. Which map/version are currently installed in Nuvi? Check also at Map Info, which map is enabled. And finally explain how you generate GMAPSUPP.IMG for MFM.

Just got this from Perth. Deleted the Australian map and install the latest map from MFM. There is no other map except this.

Run from the program and then copy over to the set.

My nuvi 255w also bought from Perth, AU at JB Hifi....2 weeks ago.....BTW I still in Perth now...
Garmin nuvi 255w + MFM110117 = THE BEST GPS EVER!!! = YOU WILL NEVER EVER GET LOST (I hope so) :P
