M3 has decided to maintain the price at RM99 till 31st December 2009.

Sb17 has informed, thru PM, M3Asia is going to release this Papago X5 SE for Windows Mobile and Android this week in Singapore. I have yet to receive reply from Vincent on my inquiry SMS sent this morning. Hope this map software can work well with HTC Touch HD or any PDA/PND with 480 x 800 WVGA resolution screen.

Regards,
JayCee

drsec,

I noticed the release is for resolution 320x480; is this not a problem for your WVGA HD2?

Also the price is now at RM149; will wait for promo again.

I think it says that it supports 320x480 screen resolution. I dont have a lower res PDA to test.

Maybe Bro SB17 can reply to this.

I've just purchased the Papago X5, it works absolutely fine for my HTC HD2 at 800X480 WVGA screen, it supports true WVGA resolution, so, I strongly believe it supports any resolutions below it. Hope this help.

BTW, I'm absolutely happy with the Papago X5, ever since been with Garmin Mobile XT, I personally find Papago XT better in many ways!:

1. It is faster when browsing maps
2. It has surprisingly more refined features than Garmin, and what the.....(sorry the be rude), I'm not sure why Windows Mobile Garmin has dropped the coordination input feature?? Papago X5 has it back!
3. During navigation, even with HD2, the fastest WM phone so far, Garmin still moves frame by frame, but Papago is moving continuously and constantly!
4. Papago shows elevations of roads! Garmin is absolutely has no such feature and it is pretty confusing at times
5. during navigation, Garmin highlighted Magenta colour road is way too thick and cover the whole road, you can't see the roads at how many lanes or lines, Papago shows very clearly which road we are at and as mentioned, clearly can see which road is on top of which when there are multi layers of roads.
6. I personally find Papago has more intuitive arrangement of menus with so many more useful features than Garmin, however, at times it is a bit confusing, probably I've got used to Garmin?
7. 3D junction views and buildings! This is fantastic!
8. I find browsing maps, setting destinations and looking for roads and poi is much more easier and more userful than Garmin!

I second that! Installation for the first time can make you confused as too many popping up of errors which it actually works fine at the end, thank you so much for drsec's guide, or else many of us will got stucked without knowing it actually works fine with those unnecessary errors! I don't reckon to copy the MFM folder from the CD to the phone storage card as advice in drsec's guide though as it has older map and it will be double work as we will load latest map again from Malfreemaps anyway. It is faster and easier to just download the latest MFM map in Malfreemaps, and retrieve it to the storage card folder right after installation. I confirm it works the same way. The only problem is Papago need the map data in order to load as drsec claimed, that's all.

I really enjoy Papago X5 much more than Garmin! It has so much more features!
