Only sets sold by authorized distributor and its appointed resellers have this feature.

You can go to Garmin Singapore website and key in the unit ID ( MainMenu - Tools - System - SystemInfo ). Website will tell you if you set is localized.

How to retrieve coordinates

Postby mr engineer » Mon Dec 21, 2009 3:59 pm

How do I retrieve/show the coordinates of the areas which I have saved in my Nuvi 255W's Favorites? :-?

Any assistance is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Choose the desired particular favourite, then set location, then go to satellite page, read the co-ordinates on top of screen.

the first thing is, set to GPS OFF (simulation mode)... point to your favourite that you want to retrieve the cordinate... go to map & set location... then back to menu and go to Where I Am... there is the cordinate that u want...
Operating Garmin Nuvi 255W SG/MY version with:
- SW 2.80

- MFM-Garmin map

Apparently, there is more than one way to find out the coordinates. SilverBeauty has one way and yours is also another method to do so. This guy posted the same question in the "Newbie Lounge" and I gave him my method. Basically, mine is the same as yours till the "Set Loc", afterwhich back out of "Favourite" and go to "Coordinates" to view and confirm by clicking on "Next".

255W firmware

Postby clow8 » Fri Jan 08, 2010 8:55 am

My unit is US set and couldn't support JCV and LA. I found a lot of forum teaching us to convert the firmware. I would like to know, what is the risk on converting firmware? Can anyone share?

nuvi 255W question

Postby jeremygoh » Wed Jan 13, 2010 5:39 pm

Hi guys, just got my garmin 255W. I'm wondering whether can i install MFM into my device, bcuz MFM doesnt support junction view(JV) and MSM is not really up-to-date. Can i keep both MSM and MFM and switch between them? How the JV works anyway? I havent come across that it shows me the JV thing.

Yes you can have both MSM and MFM co-exist in your Nuvi and select/deselect via the Nuvi menu

JCV works by displaying a graphical illustration of the junction you are suppose to turn.

It works in major highways and only in localized units

However please note that not all Nuvi255W support JCV, only Nuvi255W with Sing/Mal firmware is able to support Sing/Mal JCV.
