I've tried the voiceless version for GMPC but neither "B" and "S" shows the traffic light icon on the map.

I've the same issue with MSM version for Nuvi 2XX & 3XX but not the version for Nuvi 6XX & 7XX.

Has it something to do with unsupported pixel size in GMPC?

Bro Carz,

How is your zoom level like? I noticed that in GMPC, we need to zoom in until very close (50m in 3D mode) in order for the icons to show up. I am not sure what is the main cause for that and there isn't seem to have much info on this

I also tested both the files (big and small icon) on my GMPC and it seems to be working alright for me.

You are right about the zoom level. Anything more than 50m, the traffic light icon cannot be seen in both 2D and 3D map. This finding is also consistent with MSN versions though for MSN versions, once proximity kicks in, the traffic light icon can still be seen at 80m or higher zoom level.

That said, it's not practical to maintain zoom level at 50m and below throughout which is why I find it's essential auto-zoom is enabled so that it frequently auto adjust the zoom levels to what is necessary at various points in the route but that will usually mean driving pass a junction at 80m and above zoom level.

An accurate test should not route to the traffic cam but rather past it to simulate actual usage. I realised I've not tested MSM Nuvi 2XX & 3XX version the same way I tested the 6XX & 7XX version as both works at 80m and higher when proximity kicks in.

The above is just my limited findings on GMPC.

You are right! The icon will appear at higher zoom lever when the proximity alert kicks in.

My CPOI is using a different alert pattern and thus this can't be avoided :( I am still looking ino it to see how I can resolve this issue.

I guess non GMPC and GMXT users will not be so concern as there will be specific audio prompts but for GMPC and GMXT, the generic audio prompts are not so obvious (till now I can't differentiate the various "dong" sound) so it helps if the icon is visible for confirmation.

Perhaps the mappers here know the key to this cos most of the built-in poi icons in the map are visible at higher zoom level.

Merry X'mas!

Bro, you are not alone. I also get the audio prompt at times but have no idea what is it for as there isn't any message appearing on the screen during that moment :nutz:

The quick and easy way that I can think of to solve the icon problem now is to have a 2nd .img file to overlay with the map. However, I will need to figure out how to get it to show the traffic light icon (can only managed to get the standard icons from garmin at this moment).

Thanks bro. :D

Does it use the default dong from Garmin Voice to warn then?
