Vista and Win7 need you to have administrator account rights to access and amend the registry.

Setup will terminate

I downloaded the latest version from garmin and I get the same message as well.

Hi Sifus..I tried experimenting with mapsource again and need some help to clarify:

1) I noticed when I moved the *.img file into SD card, it says no maps found. But when I moved into native memory, then it can read. MS only reads from native memory even though it can detect SD card?

2) There were so many maps..how to use them? Does it means if I want modify POI of selangor I have to "show selected map on map"? This are what I have:

The IMG files found in a Mapsource mapset folder are only part of a Mapsource mapset installation (they're placed in this folder during mapset installation), meaning Mapsource will not read an IMG file natively.

You can only create user data such as routes, waypoints and tracks in Mapsource. This data behaves only as an overlay over the installed mapset. When you need to correct some data, just create it in Mapsource, usually with reference to the underlaying map. Then it should be saved as GDB and uploaded to the forum. Mappers will then do the necessary corrections to the IMG based on the GDB.

BTW, map selection in Mapsource is necessary only when sending (Mapsource installed) maps to device.

I just copied the mfm map I believe the 10/06 map is 87.6mb directly into my "Maps" folder without using mapsource. It seems to work. When I check the map info under settings I get three 10/06 maps. No idea why, but all the maps are checked. I assume this is fine ok right?

If you are getting as attached photo, i think that should be fine.

- 1 for MFM map
- 1 for MFM custom icons
- 1 for MFM custom icons -> newer model such as 1460,1350,1250,765,etc

Yes, there are a few methods of maps installation in device, and the easiest one would be copy n pasting compiled IMG into map folder.

Yes, this is normal. Depending on the inclusion extra POIs map, MFM mapset will show 2 or 3 maps in device.

Yup, that is what I am getting. Using nuvi 1310.

BTW, is there any problems installing newer versions of mfm ontop of the old folder? Since mfm always makes a default folder at the same place, and I did not uninstall folders from the previous maps installations. I just copy-paste it directly. Last map was 25 april or somewhere there. LOL
